"The pavilions are looking fantastic, there's something for everyone in them and there's a lot for the whole family to see," Maitland Showground manager Brett Gleeson said.
"The produce display is great. We've got the Northern Districts display from last years Sydney Royal as a feature in the McDonald Pavilion.
"There are a good number of entries across the board."
The Maitland Show is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There is a big program over the three days with lots of events including the rodeo, which will take centre stage from 5pm on Friday, and the poultry competition, which will kick off on Saturday for a big day of judging.
It's located at the end of the animal nursery so you can see all the cute baby farm animals and then walk through the poultry display.
Mr Gleeson said the showground was catering for a wider range of exhibitors this year - and that's something he intended to keep building on in the future.
"It's looking a lot fuller than what it did in 2020 when I first came in, we have a jam-packed program of entertainment and there's lots to see and do," he said.
"No matter what your interest is there is something for everybody - the rides and the amusements, they've got more in there than I have seen in years."
One of the highlights of this year's program will be the grand parade in the centre ring at 2pm on Saturday.
"The grand parade is something I said I would bring back - we hadn't had one in 40 years until I brought it back in 2020 and we are doing it again this year," Mr Gleeson said.
Tickets to Maitland Show at the gate are $50 for two adults and two children, $20 for an adult, $15 for pensioners and $10 for children 5-15 years. Children under 5 are free.
Tickets are slightly cheaper if bought online through the show website.
