But, Aberglasslyn residents would be interested to know their friendly brown snake shopper also tried to visit the salon at Stockland McKeachie’s Run.
On Wednesday afternoon, children and adults alike watched on as the fast-moving visitor attempted to escape the outdoors and slip inside.
Aberglasslyn mother Amy Waight was in the process of warning her 2 and 4-year-old boys about snake weather as they were walking to the complex – but she didn’t expect to see one on a shopping trip.
It isn’t the first time she’s had a visit from similar reptiles either.
“We saw a red belly back in May in the garden near Woollies, and the kids’ daycare next door have just had a brown snake in the playground twice in ten days,” she said.
“They’re definitely around.
“The kids were in zero danger, there’s no way I would have let them stand near the door if there was even the slightest gap.
“When we got there it was pretty still up near BWS, but started moving down the path so we went inside and the girls locked the door.
“There were a few staff from Woollies and the cafe keeping an eye on it and warning everyone until the snake catcher got there about 15 minutes after we did.”
