The three business owners walked into work on Monday morning to find their front windows smashed with thieves raiding the Maize Street stores.
It is believed the offenders smashed through the businesses glass doors and windows before fleeing with at least a thousand dollars worth of goods and causing hundreds of dollars in damage.
Beyond Tranquility Beauty & Remedial Massage Therapy was one of the shops targeted by thieves, along with Maize Street Roasters and Exhilarate Hair and Beauty.
Owner of the beauty salon Megan Kime said the break-in was a “nightmare”, and would impact her Christmas trading.
“I have to try and place orders for all new products, and just hope they get here before Christmas,” the mother-of-one said.
“They tipped everything out, and products are all over the footpath. They’ve trashed some of the rooms so we can’t complete treatments.
“It’s a nightmare the week before Christmas. For beauty and hair salons, it’s this trading that sets you up for the rest of the year.”
Exhilarate Hair and Beauty owner Megan Taylor said the thieves stole a number of blow dryers and straighteners.
“It was a big mess for us to clean up. It’s not what you need on a Monday,” she said.
Officer in charge Chief Inspector Glenn Blain said police are appealing for information after the spate of break-ins, which are believed to have happened between Saturday and Monday.
“Police are conducting investigations, and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward,” he said. Anyone with information on any of the incidents in Tenambit is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
