Maitland City Council has completed works on the Fishery Creek pedestrian and cycleway bridge.
The work was part of the Cessnock Road Cycleway construction from Gillieston Heights to the Maitland City Precinct.
The bridge is 3.3 metres wide and 30 metres long.
It allows for the separation of pedestrians and cyclists from vehicle traffic when crossing Fishery Creek.
With the design of all remaining stages complete or nearing completion, construction will soon start on the concrete cycleway.
The project is being delivered at a cost of $2.45 million and is funded by Council's Section 94 Developer Contributions as well as grant funding from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Funds (Round 1).
