Wet weather had lingered on Thursday but was gone by the time the show opened on Friday.
Some of the horticulture exhibits were still feeling weary from the drought, especially the tomatoes.
The natives in the cut flower section shone and added some colour to the pavilion.
Judges in the homecraft section had a tough task choosing the winners with so many outstanding entries - including from children.
The show continues on Saturday and Sunday. The grand parade, which will return to the show for the first time in many years, is set to be a showstopper. It begins at 3pm on Saturday in the main arena.
There is so much to see and do for the whole family.
