Heavy rainfall and the potential for damaging winds is likely to occur, and may be widespread across much of the state.
SES Hunter Region Controller Alexandra McFadden said the Bureau of Meteorology has consulted with the NSW SES to advise of the potential for damaging winds and rainfall due to a low pressure system.
“As a result, rainfall is expected across most districts and dependent on the development of the system, could be heavy across some coastal areas over the weekend,” Ms McFadden said.
“For the Hunter Region, this is a ‘heads up’ to expect possible heavy falls and strong winds, with conditions likely to worsen on Sunday.
“Before the weather turns, we suggest taking a quick check around your home, to ensure outdoor furniture is secure, overhanging branches are trimmed, and gutters are clear of debris. Re-supply your home emergency kit with fresh batteries for your torch and portable radio.”
