Lorn wildlife photographer Jim Thomson recently added four awards to his substantial collection.

The Mercury columnist won the 2016 NSW Federation of Camera Clubs (FCC) Top Shot Award, taking home the prize of an 11 day trip to Alaska.
The winning shot, Pairing Kestrels, also earned Mr Thomson a ribbon in the British Small Print Circuit.
He gained a silver medal in the Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club International with Gannets against the Wind.
His photo Citicola Calling received an honourable mention in the 2016 Bristol International Salon of Photography competition.
Mr Thomson also recently submitted photos to the Photographic Society of America (PSA) competition, which he won bronze in last year.
Photography has been a passion of Mr Thomson’s since the 1960s, heading out almost every day to snap birds, insects and fungi.
The previously ranked second best PSA nature photographer in the world said he was now running out of room to place his awards.
