A driver has been punched during an alleged road rage incident at Green Hills. At about 1pm on Saturday, the incident occurred between two vehicles near Mitchell Avenue. It is alleged that one vehicle has turned into a lane in front of the other vehicle without indicating. The driver of the second vehicle has sounded his horn, at which time the driver of the first vehicle has braked harshly. This driver is alleged to have then exited their vehicle and walked to the driver’s side window of the other vehicle, before punching that driver to the face. The incident was captured on a dash cam and police are conducting further inquiries.

Beware of scam
Central Hunter police are urging the community to be aware of scams. Last week, police took a report from a woman who had received a phone call from a man claiming he was an Australian Federal Police officer. He told the woman that her identity had been compromised and asked if she had a computer. She confirmed that she did, before the fraudster asked her to turn it on and await his instructions. He then gave her a set of instructions that enabled him to hijack her system. He was then able to scam the female victim into handing over a large amount of cash. If you are the victim of a scam or are just unsure, the government website www.scamwatch.gov.au is where you can search or report this activity.
Graffiti report to police portal
Police are pleased to report the good use of their portal by the community to report minor crime. On Monday, a report was made via the police portal regarding graffiti to the Men’s Shed in Allendale Street, Beresfield, over the weekend.
