Designers, makers and gourmet artisan foodies are ready to converge on the Maitland Regional Art Galley grounds on Saturday with a range of wears.
It’s great for shoppers, who have access to a wide range of goods they can feel, smell and touch that have been made by creative entrepreneurs.
And, it’s equally beneficial for the stallholders.
“For any business – especially one where people use their sense of smell and taste to make a purchase decision, there’s nothing like receiving real time feedback from your customers so you know what’s working and what needs tweaking,” stallholder Ennia Jones, who owns Fleurette Aromatherapy, said.
“I get to meet a wide variety of people at Olive Tree Markets and seeing their eyes light up when they experience my range still tugs at my heart and makes all the early morning starts worthwhile.”
Ms Jones has been coming to the market for a few years and said it had given her business a boost.
“Being associated with one of the best design markets in the region has opened doors for me with local and national businesses who are looking for authentic, quality, handmade products for a growing number of socially conscious customers,” she said.
Shoppers can expect a wide range of items from candles and eye masks to flowers, food, jewellery, clothing, artworks and ceramics.
Sydney-based Maria Vantsos, of A Little Gypsy In My Soul, said the market’s creative community atmosphere made the trip up the freeway worthwhile.
“The Olive Tree market and its collaborated curated event at the Maitland Regional Art gallery is inspiring, encouraging, welcoming and motivating,” she said.
“But most of all there is a pride in being involved in a market environment that has consistently proven to be rewarding to be part of.”
Band Magpie will swoop in for some musical entertainment during the event, and the tunes of Thomas Beazley, Christabelle Blue and Damian Wright will also echo throughout the space.
The market starts at 9am and finishes at 2pm.
