'Stories from Wonnarua Country' has been selected as a finalist in in the Engagement Programs category for the prestigious annual awards.
As part of the exhibition, Indigenous students from seven local schools created artworks representing what it means to them to be living on Wonnarua Country.
For exhibition curator Anne McLaughlin, the nomination was a fantastic accolade for the exhibition.
"It's the engagement category so it's about how we worked towards the exhibition. It was a 12 to 18 month long process," she said.
"I'm really humbled by the response of the schools in working with the gallery, and the work they produced."
'Stories from Wonnarua Country' will be on display at Maitland Regional Art Gallery until October 13.
The awards presentation night will take place at the Powerhouse Museum, Ultimo on November 29.
