A man has been arrested for possessing a trafficable amount of drugs and a taser when he was stopped in Central Maitland on Monday afternoon.

Police stopped the 36-year-old man on Church Street about 1pm in relation to some outstanding warrants.
But a search of the man and his vehicle allegedly uncovered a trafficable quantity of the drug ice, a taser which had been disguised as a flash light, a knife and stolen property including credit cards, identification and a phone, police claim.
The man was charged with custody of a knife in a public place, supplying a prohibited drug, possession of a prohibited weapon, goods in custody, dealing in the proceeds of crime and other matters.
He was refused bail to appear in Maitland Local Court on November 1.
