Put an epic reminder on your calendar for March 29 - a special day for pooches across Maitland.
Dogs in the Park is an event which last year attracted 7500 dog owners to Maitland Park last year and this year the day is expected to be just as big - if not bigger.
Dogs in the Park is a not for profit organisation which started in 2016 on the Central Coast but later branched out to Newcastle and Penrith.
Last year, the organisation hosted 16 events across NSW.
These events included a range of activities including dog competitions, vet checks and industry demonstrations.
Founder Chris Boswell said this year Dogs in the Park will be taken to 38 locations across the State.
"This is our second year in Maitland and we're hoping for great weather and a big crowd," Mr Boswell said.
"Maitland people love their dogs - last year the park was inundated. Some people even travelled from Sydney with their pets just to attend the event."
This year's Maitland Park event will kick off at 10am and conclude at 2pm.
"There will be prizes for the cutest pup and dog, dog fancy dress and a number of stalls will be operating on the day with dog related products," Mr Boswell said.
His idea for Dogs in the Park stemmed from his love of dogs of course and his passion working in the canine industry.
Mr Boswell was also frustrated at having to travel from his home on the Central Coast to Sydney to attend dog shows.
"I thought I'd organise something myself on the Central Coast and it was such a big hit that it's just taken off from that point.
"I've received so much support from people this year it's been amazing," Mr Boswell said.
He said all Dogs in the Park events across NSW are free.
"We are supporting responsible dog ownership and promote pure breeds and we are also supporters of various dog rescue groups across NSW," he said.
"We have a fun, action packed-day planned for Maitland with leading industry experts on hand, dog sport demonstrations and dog competitions including best trick dog, smallest dog and largest dog.
"We will have canine business representatives attending our events - in fact we have everything from suppliers to dog-related market stalls," Mr Boswell said.
And with the region's unpredictable weather of late, Mr Boswell said if the ground or general weather conditions are too wet, the Maitland event will be postphoned and moved to another date.
