The $8.49 million dollar development, located at 82 Gardiner Street, will see the construction of six single-storey buildings, car parking, bulk earthworks, landscaping and civil works, including a new culvert bridge over Stony Creek.
A report said the complex "will be a logical expansion to the existing industrial land use base in Gardiner Street, resulting in a purpose-built facility capable of accommodating a mix of bulk storage, warehousing for large business, as well as, small business and light industrial units".
"The proposal represents a significant investment in the region as it would add to the existing commercial/ light industrial land supply in the LGA," the report read.
"It is anticipated to be a destination for small start-up businesses or small-scale trade activities with the potential to generate substantial amount of new employment opportunities.
"The development proposal is considered to be in the broader public interest."
