Maitland has entered top and bottom age teams in each age group and there is a strong possibility that the top age Maitland Maroon (under-17) will play the bottom age Maitland Gold (under-16) in the under-17 final scheduled for December 13.
Maitland Gold can potentially book their spot in the final with a win over Namoi in Gunnedah this Sunday.
Maitland Maroon have a harder assignment and will need to beat the strong Tamworth team in Tamworth on Sunday to earn their spot.
In the under-15s Maitland Maroon (U15) are runaway leaders of the Red Pool and will host a semi final on December 6 but their opponent is unclear at this stage.
The under-14s Maitland Gold have a bye this weekend and unfortunately cannot make the semi finals, but they have performed admirably against the older teams in this age group this year and will be better for the experience when they turn out in this age group again next year.
In the under-13 competition Maitland Maroon (U13s) look the likely winners of the Red Pool and will host a semi final on December 6 if they can overcome the Tamworth Gold in Tamworth on Sunday.
Maitland Gold (MDJCA U12) can potentially grab second spot in the Navy pool with a win against Narrabri in Gunnedah this Sunday which would set up a possible semi-final showdown between the two Maitland teams.
Five of the six Maitland teams had wins on Sunday with some outstanding individual performances led by Maitland Maroon under-13s skipper Harry Dunn who was run out for 98 of just 72 balls in his side's 186-run win over Armidale.
Maitland made 9-248 with Keanu Botha (42), Sam Bailey (25) and Dash Baker (20) all making solid contributions. Armidale were all out for 62 with Stirling Strachan (2-6), Louis Mason (2-6) and Harry Uren (2-16) all picking up two wickets.
Maitland Gold defeated Coalfields by five wickets making 5-94 including 42 by Chayce Smith and 21 to Tremayne Small. Billy Ellis picked up 3-5, Monique Krake took 2-8 and Quinn MacClure 2-18.
In the unfer-15s, Maitland Maroon secured a 122-run win over Armidale after posting 193 led by an outstanding performance by Jaxon Brooks who took 6-22 with the ball and top scored with 38.
Jack Ryan chimed in with 36 and Isaac Edwards made a quick fire 29 off just 21 balls. Ryan also picked up 2-16.
Maitland Gold (78) made Gunnedah fight hard for a three wicket win. William Scanes took 3-19.
Baylee Borrow made 64 not out as Maitland Maroon made 3/125 in 25 overs for a seven-wicket win against Namoi.
Joe Hancock scored 53 and Tom Porter 43 in Maitland Gold's 8/151 against Tamworth. Jet Lee led the attack with 4-16 as Tamworth were all out for 124.
