The road will close from 5am Saturday, June 19 for one week.
Due to increased traffic movements in the Allandale area and neighbouring suburbs, Allandale Road required the upgrade.
The Allandale Road upgrade is being funded through council, State and Federal government funding sources.
This includes Maitland City Council's Annual Operational Plan, Transport for NSW's Repair Funding and the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program.
Works being carried out include:
- Stabilising a section of the road from the adjacent rail bridge
- Pavement reconstruction and widening to allow for 3.5m lane widths and 2m shoulders
- Rock cutting approximately 4,000m cubed.
- Service relocations
- New road seal and line marking.
