Emergency services were called to a property on Laroo Road about 8am on Friday, after a member of the public found a man deceased in the driveway.
The 28-year-old man, who lived on the property, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Two more bodies, of a man and a woman, were discovered by police from Darling River Local Area Command when they reached the scene.
Two of the deceased have been identified as Stephen Cumberland, 59, and his son Jacob, 28, while a 36 year old woman has not had her name released.
The woman had also suffered a gunshot wound while Stephen Cumberland's body was found in a burnt-out caravan. A post-mortem examination will be conducted in coming days to determine the cause of his death.
Strike Force Anjudy was launched by local detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, to investigate the deaths.
A 61-year-old man was arrested by the strike force detectives at Nyngan Police Station at about midday on Sunday.
While he continues to assist with inquiries, a search warrant will be executed at a Hermidale property this afternoon.
