Organisers of Maitland Council’s annual Taste Festival said attendance had dipped slightly this year, but they were happy with how the event took place.
It made for thirsty weather as the mercury tipped 34 degrees in Maitland on Saturday and 33 on Sunday.
“It was still a really good turn-out,” event coordinator Adam Franks said.
“Numbers were a bit down on last year. I think that was partly due to the heat and partly due to some other things being on around the Hunter this weekend.”
Mr Franks said the live music acts, garden stage and backyard barbecue demonstrations appeared to be the crowd favourites on the weekend.
Hunter business Perfect Pickles held its first Taste stall this year and owner Roland Johnson said it had been a worthwhile experience.
“[Saturday] was very good and [Sunday] looks as though it might be the same,” he said.
