The remainder of money for the $2.5 million project will come from the Diocesan Schools Building Fund.
“The funds are designed to help schools around the Hunter improve the learning environments for their students, giving schools contemporary facilities that reflect the learning needs of today’s students,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald said.
St Patrick’s principal Jacqui Wilkinson the grant signaled an exciting time for the school.
“Stage one of the building project will encompass new administration facilities and architecturally designed learning spaces or pods for Kindergarten and Year 1 students,” Mrs Wilkinson said.
“The design of each pod enhances learning flexibility and features adaptable furniture and use of spaces to engage students and promote collaboration and engagement.”
