Mr Fitzgibbon said a motion has been lodged on his behalf to start a senate inquiry into the region’s bat problems and added that many other NSW areas are also under siege.
“I received a briefing from Environment Minister Greg Hunt and his staff highlighting the enormity of the task,” he said.
Mr Fitzgibbon also met with the mayor of Eurobodalla who said his area is also suffering bat infestations.
