The club was chartered on June 6, 1976 with 31 charter members. Members celebrated at Maitland City Bowling Club on Sunday.
Milton Morris OA who was State Member for Maitland at the time the club formed, attended the event along with Rotary District Governor of the day Geoff Olsen. The club’s historian Bob Parsons presented a slide show documenting the club’s 40 years.
The Club moved on to organise a number of high profile raffles of motor vehicles, cubby houses with proceeds going to Mai-Wel the then emerging rescue helicopter and Maitland Hospital.
The club was the first to embark on a graffiti removal project, one of its most successful ongoing contributions to the city.
