Obelisk Systems, made up of Maitland’s Andreas Antoniades and University of Newcastle graduates Lewis Quill, Luke Hackworth and Levi Weitenberg, were the recipients of a community entrepreneur grant from Beyond Bank.
Receiving the grant comes off the back of a whirlwind few months for Obelisk Systems, which creates miniature satellite hardware for space exploration and scientific experimentation.
The team put together the first Australian payload set to go to the international space station in November.
Mr Antoniades said the grant will help them pay for the next stage of satellite prototyping, purchase equipment, develop hardware, and fund day-to-day costs.
