A double rainbow occurs when the light is reflected twice in a drop of rain.
Interestingly, instead of seeing red at the top and blue at the bottom of the second rainbow, the colours are reversed.
While the city has been basking in the balmy temperatures of 22 degrees yesterday and a forecast 24 today, weather experts said a change is imminent.
Fairfax Media weather expert Don White said conditions will cool off towards the end of the week, possibly starting with a shower or two.
“Conditions should cool back down around Thursday and hover around the late teens for the rest of the week,” Mr White said. He said conditions should return to fine sunny days during the early part of next week.
“We’re seeing more short bursts of warmer weather now as we approach the end of Winter and the seasons change.” The forecast for Thursday and Friday is 19 degrees and mostly sunny.
