Mr Carr, who also holds the record for the longest continuously serving NSW Premier, will be in Maitland this month to talk about his book Diary of a Foreign Minister.
“It is a great privilege to host Bob Carr for Maitland City Library’s Look Who’s Talking program,” city librarian Keryl Collard said.
“Mr Carr’s Diary of a Foreign Minister provides a unique insight into politics on the national and international stages.”
Diary of a Foreign Minister ranges from the war in Syria to Australia’s election to the United Nations Security Council set against the backdrop of Labor Party infighting, plummeting polls and a leadership change from Julia Gillard back to Kevin Rudd.
Look Who’s Talking will be held at Hunter Valley Grammar School at 6pm on August 18. Tickets cost $25 each. Visit maitland.nsw.gov.au or contact Maitland City Library on 4933 6952 for more information.
