Rutherford woman Ava Rackley scored herself a whopping $80,000 when she picked up the telephone this morning just before driving her children to school.
Thirty two-year-old Ava celebrated her ninth wedding anniversary with husband Brad this week, the win making the celebration even sweeter.
The couple has three children, Nine-year-old Kalem, five-year-old Lukan and 18-month-old Indigo.
“We haven’t been on a holiday for the 11 years Brad and I have been together and now we can take the kids on a great holiday,” Ava said.
“I can’t believe this has happened. I’m still shaking, I’m so excited,” she said.
The Seven Network Sunrise Cash Cow visited the family yesterday to film a piece about the family’s windfall.
“When I answered the phone I was in the garage getting the kids in the car to go to school,” she said,.
“The I heard Kochie’s voice on the line and I just screamed and screamed,” she said.
Ava said the family has been doing the hard yards financially and she has recently opened her own beauty salon Forever Belle Beauty for some more income.
“Apart from a little splurge on a holiday, probably to the Queensland theme parks, I think we will invest the rest of the money,” Ava said.
“Kalem was the one who told me that I should enter the competition. I said we’d never win but I entered anyway,” she said.
“This will help us out so much. It’s amazing.”
