Councillors voted before a packed gallery last night to reject the proposal, many saying nothing has changed since the application last came to council in July.
Councillors were given two options at last night’s meeting: To confirm its refusal of the application for the reasons given on July 12 or to resolve to change its determination.
Cr Bob Geoghegan was the only councillor to vote against the refusal citing possible Land and Environment Court action by the developer if the application was quashed.
Property Projects Pty Ltd was listed as the applicant for the project which is proposed for land bounded by Morpeth Road, Raworth Avenue and Laurie Drive.
