Maitland councillors voted to advertise fees and charges for the structure for 28 days before seeking a long term tenant for the site.
The Hatch on The Levee has, throughout 2016, been operating as an incubator on a short term tenancy basis for new and untried businesses from around the city.
A report to a recent council meeting said this approach was undertaken on a temporary basis to determine the level of interest from across the city for this style of opportunity.
"With Component Two of The Levee development due to commence shortly, the time is right to transition the space from short term rolling tenures to a long term paid tenancy," the report said.
Council will now endorses a weekly rental fee of $150 GST inclusive (excluding additional outgoings defined in the license agreement) for approved street vending at The Hatch located within the Shared Zone, High Street Maitland.
The Hatch has been a key part of The Levee playing a role in diversifying the retail experiential offering that is helping transition the precinct into the city’s premier lifestyle precinct, the report said.
