The new-look Rutherford Hotel is one of several Maitland venues named finalists in the AHA NSW Awards for Excellence.

Steve Hunt of Rutherford Hotel said the announcement the hotel had made the finals in several different categories was the icing on the cake following the unveiling of the hotel’s recently completed renovations.
Rutherford Hotel was named finalist in the best traditional bar, best draught beer, best restaurant (country), best casual dining (country northern), best cheap eats under $15 and best Keno.
Other local venues among the state’s best are Bushrangers Bar and Brasserie, The Windsor Castle,The George Tavern, The Bradford Hotel and The Bank Hotel.
Janine Redman of The George Tavern said her hotel has been entering the awards for five years and this year is nominated in seven categories.
“I’ve never seen so many local hotels make the final cut,” she said.
