Maitland Business Week has been organised from November 14-17 by the Maitland Business Chamber.
Chamber president Craig McGregor said the event will serve several purposes.
He said it is a celebration of businesses in Maitland, an opportunity to increase the town’s economic activity, and a chance for business groups and organisations to connect with one another.
Mr McGregor said he also hoped the week clears up any misconceptions about becoming involved in chamber events.
“It’s not this exclusive brethren people may think it is,” he said.
The week will involve networking championships, a local version of a TED talk by leading business personalities and a tourism forum among other events.
This is the first time the event has been held, but Mr McGregor said he would like it to becomes an annual addition to the business calendar.
