More than 1000 students attended the school up until its closure in 2012.
Today those 1000 former students have been invited to rekindle some old friendships at a reunion, being planned by former principal Leyanne Morris and former student Brigid Teasdale.
Mrs Teasdale started her own dance school Just 4 Fun Dance at Rutherford last year. She saw it as an extension of Simplee Jazz and this year Mrs Morris joined as a dancer and choreographer.
“We’ve been talking about a reunion for a long time now,” Mrs Teasdale said.
Mrs Teasdale put a post on Facebook and the response has been overwhelming.
“I’m getting more and more inquiries each day and everyone is keen to get together,” she said.
While no date or venue has been set for the reunion, Mrs Teasdale said people could stay in touch with her through her personal Facebook page or through her dance school’s page.
