Some time between the late hours of Saturday night and early Sunday morning someone has stolen Christmas lights from a house in Green Street, Telarah.

The green and red laser lights were taken from the front yard and were a present for the owner of that home from her son.
The owner has since removed all her other lights in fear that the others will also be stolen. Contact Maitland police on 4934 0200 if you have any information.
Man charged with mid-range DUI
On Sunday morning police were conducting stationary breath testing on the New England Highway, Maitland. Police stopped a male driver in a black Suzuki Grand Vitara and submitted him to a breath test, which proved positive.
As a result he was arrested and conveyed to Maitland Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis which provided a mid range positive alcohol reading. The male driver had his licence immediately suspended and was charged.
He will appear at Maitland Local Court in January. Police would like to remind drivers over the Christmas and New Year period that drink driving is a crime.

- Share a taxi with a friend
- Catch public transport
- Ride with a driver that hasn’t been drinking or taking drugs
- Arrange for a friend or relative to give you a lift home.
Vehicle broken into at Gillieston Heights
On Friday night the victim parked and secured their Nissan Navara Utility in Crestview Street, Gillieston Heights.
The victim returned to the vehicle on Saturday morning to discover that it had been broken into and that their wallet and headphones had been stolen from within the car.
Fail to leave Maitland licensed premises
An 18-year-old female patron was requested to leave a licensed premises in Maitland on Saturday night after she was observed by staff to push another patron inside the pub.
Security has escorted her to the entry of the location where she has become aggressive and allegedly refused to leave.
Police were contacted to the location and arrived a short time later.
The female was required to be handcuffed by police and conveyed to Maitland police station due to her aggressive nature and failure to comply. She was later issued with a fine of $550.
