The expansion comes hot on the heels on last month’s announcement that St Philip’s Christian College is investigating the possibility of purchasing land at Aberglasslyn for a new Kindergarten to Year 12 school catering for 1200 students.
Plans are for the school to open for enrolments in 2020 with classes available from Kindergarten to early secondary years. The school would then continue to grow towards Year 12 students presenting for HSC exams.
A spokesperson for the Catholic Schools Office said that as agencies of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, the Catholic Schools Office and St Nicholas Early Education were committed to supporting local communities throughout the diocese.
“The Lochinvar community is key to the life of the diocese, and both agencies are working to continue to provide access to quality education services by investing significantly in local developments,” the spokesperson said.
The Catholic Schools Office has approved a significant upgrade to St Patrick’s and is working to ensure St Patrick’s continues to grow with the community.

With phase one of the development due to be completed in 2017, students will benefit from new classrooms as well as a dedicated ‘kiss and drop’ zone for safe student drop off and increased classroom space when phase two is completed in 2019.
Alongside this development at Lochinvar, St Nicholas Early Education will be opening a new centre in early 2018.
Catering for children aged 0 to five years, the new, 124 place St Nicholas will offer care five days a week from 6.30am to 6pm, and will include a dedicated preschool program for children aged four to five years.
As both developments are running concurrently, there will be some short term disruption at St Patrick’s Primary School and Parish as building works are completed.
Both the Catholic Schools Office and St Nicholas Early Education are working together with the primary school and Parish to minimise impacts and ensure those visiting the site do so safely.’
