POLICE are investigating after a number of firearms were stolen from a property in the Hunter.

On Friday, between 7.45am and 8.30am, someone broke into a property on Martins Creek Road, Paterson.
They stole two long rifles, .22 calibre and a .222 calibre, and ammunition from the location.
Officers from Port Stephens/Hunter Police District commenced investigations.
Anyone with information that may assist is urged to contact local police.
