The matter of Tenambit’s Ruth Sales was mentioned in Maitland Local Court on Wednesday.
It is alleged the 59-year-old committed the offences between December 6, 2017 and February 20, 2018 while working as an employee at Tenambit Foodworks, according to court documents.
She was arrested earlier this year and hit with 40 counts of stealing property as a clerk or servant under the value of $2000.
The individual charges range from stealing a solitary chocolate muffin, to more expensive instances valued at hundreds of dollars.
Among the other property alleged to be stolen are multiple cartons of cigarettes, toilet paper, barbecued chickens, avocados, loaves of sourdough bread, trays of roast beef and a range of other supermarket foods.
The matter has been adjourned to August 22 while representatives are finalised.
