Final fit outs are being carried out, staff are being trained and shelves will soon be stocked.
Maxi Save spokesperson Kieran Rogers said once shelves are stocked the doors to the Elgin Street business will open.
“We don’t have anything planned for opening apart from our everyday low prices in store,” Mr Rogers said.
The supermarket will be Maitland’s third and will operate from the former Sam’s Warehouse building in Elgin Street which also incorporated several speciality shops.
Mr Rogers said shoppers will find everything from pet products to linen and gardening items in store – as well as the normal range of supermarket groceries and fresh food.
The supermarket itself will sit on 1500 square metres of space and will also comprise a liquor component.
It will employ 30 people made up of full-time and casual staff and will have five checkouts.
