The school already has 32 students signed up, and the young skipping stars’ efforts have seen them raise nearly $1200.
Rutherford Public joins hundreds of schools across the country involved in the fundraiser, which is celebrating a 35-year legacy.
The Heart Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fighting the single biggest killer of Australians – heart disease.
The school’s coordinator is Rachel Highet, and she is encouraging all students sign up or grab a rope.
”We are going to have a ‘Jump-Off’ at the end of week two, and the idea is everybody will get out there at some point during the day,” she said.
“It’s pretty good so far, and it’s nice to see the kids getting into something a little bit different.”
