Now, she’s hoping that it can help other survivors of childhood abuse heal themselves too.
Ms Hall’s book has been stocked at McDonalds Bookshop in The Levee, where she is set to take part in a signing on November 17.
‘Our Little Secret’ is a memoir of how Ms Hall rebuilt her life and dealt with the pain and shame of being an abuse survivor.
When repressed memories of the abuse she suffered came back to her 11 years ago, Ms Hall said she wished there was something like this book.
“There wasn’t much out there to help,” she said.
“I want to give hope, tools and knowledge to help survivors.
“You think you’re crazy when you’re going through the hard times, but you’re not.”
Ms Hall wrote the bones of the book in just a few days after attending a writing workshop as part of a business course she was on in Hawaii.
She said while revisiting the memories was “very traumatising” it also allowed her to work through her traumas and take her power back.
Ms Hall, who is also an experienced artist, has also crafted her thoughts and emotions into some of the imagery in the book.
The book was released on September 10, and Ms Hall said she had already received amazing feedback from survivors and health professionals.
