The not-for-profit organisation is providing Christmas hampers of gifts and food to families and individuals in the area.
Senior community work Jenny Fullford said the initiative offered a helping hand for those struggling in the community.
“We have between 180 to 200 hampers that we will be giving out this week, and the majority of the hampers are from donations,” she said.
“The Maitland community is amazing, and always gets on board with donations. It’s been amazing.”
The Christmas hampers will be distributed to people registered with the centre on Thursday.
“They are pretty much able to put a Christmas dinner on the table or be able to take something to wherever they are going on Christmas,” Ms Fullford said.
“We do it annually and try to get it as close to Christmas as possible.
“It’s a big deal in our eyes for the community.”
