A presentation of the Thank You for Your Service Quilt was made to Mr Boughton by Pauline James, a past president of the Council who initiated the project in May 2018.
The project was started when the Women's Auxiliary was unable to fundraise for veterans due to the findings of the Bergin inquiry and RSL NSW's decision to place a hold on fundraising until governance issues were addressed.
The quilts are presented to RSL NSW returned service personnel who have given dedicated service to the welfare of veterans and RSL NSW.
