Lower Hunter businesses have lent a helping hand to a Kurri Kurri family after their home went up in flames earlier this month.

The devastating house fire that destroyed the Kurri Kurri family home inspired 2327 Boot Camp to unite with the community and raise money for the Williams family.
Joy, Darren and Mercades Williams had been living in their beloved home on Deakin Street for 30 years before a fire ripped through it in the early hours of September 13.
With help from Kurri Kurri’s tight knit community, 2327 Boot Camp have raised $1100, just $400 short of their overall goal of $1500.
Boot camp founder Jayme Richardson said the bootcamp felt compelled to raise money for the family after hearing the news.
“Every 10-15 weeks we give 10 percent of our profits to deserving local families in special circumstances. In just one year we’ve managed to raise $6000 for the community”, he said.
“For us, the more you give the more you get back.”

2327 Bootcamp will be presenting the cheque to the family on Friday, September 30.
Kurri Kurri McDonalds are holding a fundraiser on Monday, where 10 per cent of proceeds will be donated to the Williams family.
