Walters, raised in Dungog and arguably the Hunters’ greatest cricketer, and his Australian Test teammate Thomson are special guests at City United’s Centenary Dinner at Club Maitland City on February 25.
“Dougy Walters is obviously a legend of Hunter and Australian cricket and he and Thommo were part of Australia’s golden era of the 1970s when they matched the mighty West Indies,” City United’s Paul Brownlee said.
“Malcolm Johnston is a legend of racing and by all reports one of the best speakers on the speaking dinner circuit.
“This is a night for all Maitland sports fans and Norths and Wests have already booked tables.”
Tickets for the evening are $120, which includes a three-course dinner and five-hour drinks package. To book call Fiona Goddard on 0438 319 246, Mick Randall on 0412 203 444 or Paul Brownlee on 0419 294 033.
