It’s a big day for the Warriors who will be hosting Old Boys Day and hoping to put an impressive performance in front of the Warriors of old.
Kurri Weston’s form has been fluctuating to put it mildy in the second half of the season with two wins and three losses since the Christmas break.
The Warriors had seemed to be turning the corner in form after successive wins against Eastern Suburbs and Port Stephens, but they were sent home early on day two of their most recent game after Thornton quickly made the 36 runs required to secure first innings points.
Kurrri Weston were dismissed for 118 on day one of their round 12 fixture at Thornton. The home side resumed on 5/83 but managed to make the runs required with just the loss of one more wicket.
In a testament to the Warriors attacking style of cricket, Thornton skipper Jake Moore chose not to chase outright points knowing if any team was going to cause an upset it was Kurri Weston.
Saturday’s one-day game against Raymond Terrace starts at noon and Warriors wicket keeper Tyler Power said they would love all former players and people involved in the club to come along and hopeful enjoy a Kurri Weston win on Old Boys Day.
