Mahony was 60 not out when the Plovers' passed Norths total of 188, with Shaun Hill also unbeaten on 25, after Shannon Threlfo with 50 and Tom Irwin 30 had given Wests a strong start.
"Aaron Mahony is a class above everyone. He is batting with plenty of time, he knows his game well and his value for his wicket is phenomenal," Norths skipper Lincoln Mills said of Wests star batsman.
It was a tough day for Norths who were reduced to 10 men when Mitch Field and Jordan Callinan could not take the field because of late work and family commitments respectively.
Mills said the loss of Field and Callinan had created problems with their bowling line-up and options.
"It means we probably had to bowl in longer spells than we would have liked. Our biggest problem was our own ill discipline with our bowling," Mills said.
"We will learn from that, but in the end Wests were just too good for us on the day.
"We were were outclassed by Wests they bowled very well. We got some starts but no one was able to go on with the innings and get a big score.
"We lost early wickets and were unable to recover. We ended up with 188 and they got it comfortably with two down.
"Wests will be there at the business end of the season for sure. I was impressed, they've got a good bowling attack and their batting is very strong."
Wests skipper Tom Irwin said it was another strong all-round performance with Mahony showing his class.
"We shared the wickets around again," he said.
