Tom Page, Malcom Threlfall and James Killen stepped into the Maitland side to replace first grade experienced trio Lachlan Page, Joe Hancock and Baylee Borrows.
But far from being overwhelmed all three contributed to a fine win on the road.
Sent in to bat Maitland posted a respectable 5/183 with skipper Toby Warner and Brayden Lucas equal top scores with 43 a piece.
Izach Dennis made 33 and Sam Lynch and Threlfall unbeaten on 21 and 17 respectively.
Maitland had Manly reeling at 3-14 and maintained the pressure to dismiss them for 141.
Dennis completed a fine all round game taking 3-29 to be the chief wicket-taker. Jay Boyd took 2-17, Ben Parkinson 2-30 and Hudson Smith (1-16) and Killen (1-18) picked up a wicket each.
Maitland's under-15s had an emphatic nine-wicket win at home against NWS Hurricanes dismissing the visitors for 134 and chasing down their target in just 25 overs at Robins Oval.
Openers Ethan Bartlett with 56 and Patrick Stewart 56 not out shared the batting honours as Maitland posted 1/136.
Maitland's under-12 to under-14 teams were also affected by players being away for representative training and dropped their first games of the season.
Will Montgomery, Charlie Adamson, Benjamin Ison and Pat Emmett stepped up to play for the under-14s against a strong Manly Warringah team which batted first at home and made 7/172.
Emmett took 2-27 to share the Maitland bowling honours with Nate Blundell who finished with 2-23.
Maitland batted through their innings but fell short making 118 to go down by 54 runs.
In the under-13s, Maitland restricted Hornsby to 4/143 in their 40 overs before making 9/115 in reply at King Park 5
Oska Greentree led Maitland's bowling with 2-23 and Toby Smith and Darcy Emmett top scored with 28 each.
Maitland's under-12s posted a healthy total of 7/154 on the road against Hornsby but unfortunately it didn't prove enough with the homeside recording an eight-wicket win.
Jack Sullivan top scored with 38, Aiden Gibson made 25 not out and Charlie Lovegrove 23.
In reply, Hornsby reached 2/155 in the 34th over.
This weekend the under-13s are away to and under-12s host NWS Hurricanes, the under-14s host Northern District at King Edward Park, the under-15s travel to Manly and under-16s host Newcastle at Jack Collins Oval.
